About Me

The photo above is my wife and dog driving through The Chandelier Tree in the Redwood Forest on our trip up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) 101 in Northern California.

I’ve always been enthralled by road trips and at a younger age, neighborhood friends disappearing on long weekends in their parent’s camper, RV, van, or station wagon and coming back with stories of magical places and experiences. Sometimes it was the Grand Canyon, or a drive to see family with stops along the way, or a simple camping and fishing trip.

As I got older, I was determined to have some of those experiences, but I realized the bucket list in the U.S. was daunting, so I had to be selective based on budget and time. Over the course of the past 30 years, I’ve been able to drive through most of the country, and I’ve seen some pretty incredible spots, but I’ve always wanted to research more and find out what I’ve missed. I built this website simply to share popular (or unknown) destinations, road trips, stories, and experiences in case there are others out there like me.

I don’t know where this journey of a website will take me, but I hope you find some value or enjoyment. Please hit me up at info@usbestroadtrips.com if you have any ideas or questions.

We have yet to purchase an RV, but when we do, we plan to purchase the Mountain Directory E-books. We are told these are a great resource for driving the bigger rigs around our great states.
